Terms and Conditions for Using the Marakiib Platform

1. Introduction

Welcome to Marakiib – مراكب, the largest car rental platform in the Arab world.
By accessing or using the website or the marakiib application on iOS or Android, you expressly and legally acknowledge and agree to be fully bound by these Terms and Conditions, in addition to our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to any provision herein, you must immediately discontinue use of the platform.

2. Platform Overview

Marakiib is a digital intermediary car rental platform established in 2024 in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The platform connects:

  • Vehicle owners
  • Renters

Through a secure electronic system for booking and payment management.

⚠️ Marakiib does not own, operate, manage, or rent any vehicles and is not a direct party to any rental agreement.

3. Acceptance & Eligibility

To use the platform, the user must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Hold a valid driving license
  • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information

Marakiib reserves the right to verify user data and to suspend or restrict accounts in case of suspected violations or inaccurate information.

4. Role of Marakiib & Legal Liability

  • Marakiib acts solely as a technical intermediary
  • All contractual agreements are concluded directly between the vehicle owner and the renter

Marakiib shall not be liable for:

  • Vehicle condition
  • Accidents, damages, or mechanical failures
  • Disputes between parties
  • Delays or cancellations outside the scope of platform payment systems

Except for technical errors directly related to payment processing within the platform.

5. Fees, Commissions & Subscriptions

A. Tourist Vehicles (Green License Plates)

  • Marakiib charges a defined commission for each successful booking
  • The commission amount is clearly disclosed before booking confirmation

B. Private Vehicles (White License Plates)

  • No commission is deducted from bookings
  • Vehicle owners must subscribe to one of the paid plans
  • The subscription fee is required to list and advertise the vehicle on the platform

6. Payments & Refunds

  • All payments are processed via secure and approved electronic payment gateways
  • In case of booking cancellation:
    • Refunds are processed according to the cancellation policy
    • The refund may take up to 14 business days to be credited back to the customer’s account

Marakiib is not responsible for delays caused by banks or payment service providers.

⚠️ Marakiib disclaims all liability for any fraud resulting from transactions conducted outside the Marakiib platform.
Both the vehicle owner and renter bear full responsibility for any payments made outside the application, including fraud or financial loss.

7. User Obligations

Users agree to:

  • Use the platform for lawful purposes only
  • Not provide false or misleading information
  • Ensure that listed vehicles are:
    • Properly licensed
    • Insured
    • Roadworthy
  • Refrain from abusing, hacking, or attempting to disrupt the platform

8. Account Suspension or Termination

Marakiib reserves the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate any account or booking
  • Freeze balances or user wallets (for owners or renters)
  • Do so without prior notice

In cases of:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Suspected fraudulent activity
  • Harm to the platform or its users

9. Intellectual Property

All:

  • Trademarks
  • Logos
  • Textual and visual content

Are the exclusive property of Marakiib – مراكب.
Any unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Jordanian courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

11. Amendments

Marakiib reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time.
 Updates will be published within the application and on the website.
 Continued use of the platform constitutes explicit acceptance of the updated terms.

Privacy Policy

1. Data Collection

We collect the following data:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Identification or driving license data (when required)
  • Payment data (card details are not stored)

2. Use of Data

User data is used for:

  • Operating the service
  • Processing bookings and payments
  • Identity verification
  • Technical support
  • Legal and regulatory compliance

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent user data.
Data may be shared only with:

  • Payment service providers
  • Legal authorities upon official request

4. Data Protection

We apply:

  • High-level encryption standards
  • Technical and organizational security measures

To protect user data against unauthorized access or misuse.

5. User Rights

Users have the right to:

  • Access their data
  • Update or correct information
  • Request account deletion

In accordance with applicable laws.
